Right in my first challenge in Motorola, I had the privilege of working with the team behind the recently released Hello UI. My role was nothing less than creating the new boot-up animation for the devices, the very first point of contact with the user. The piece had to be fully integrated with the ecosystem under development for the UI and embody the CX department's effort of creating an emotional relationship with customers through the brand's new design language.
After months of research, a number of concepts and explorations were carried out and I'm happy to say that I'm really proud of the final outcome. It had such a good internal repercussion that I was brought on board again to create the welcoming screen of the Setup Wizard (once you turn the phone on for the first time, it's the introductory screen that shows up right after the boot-up animation). The team decided that the best idea was to make it a seamless complement to the boot-up piece, in regular and inverted versions for the UI's light and dark modes. This time I had to work with the JSON file limitations, which was a pretty fun challenge.
Finally, my collaboration to the Hello UI project came with further good news: I was in the group that received the Motorola's Team Excellence Award - in the words of Motorola's CEO, we "conquered challenges and delivered results that significantly benefited our Mobile business" and "came together to overcome adversity, share best practices, and achieve your objectives".
You can check out the animation by turning on any device with the new Hello UI!
